2018 Girls Youth Summer League


EPLA Girls Youth Program is Pleased to Announce Registration for the 2018 Girls Youth Summer League!

Teams: 10U (3/4th) - 12U (5/6th) - 14U (7/8th)


When does the 2018 summer season begin? The 2018 season will begin during the 2nd or 3rd week of May.

Is there a mandatory fundraiser? No, there is not a mandatory fundraiser this year.

When will we have practices? Practices will be scheduled Monday through Thursday. Depending on field availability, we will have some possible Fri/Sat/Sun practices/games. Practices will be held during the late afternoon through evening. 

When will we have games? Games are scheduled from June through August 6th. All teams will be participating in 2 tournaments this summer season plus some 7v7 informal scrimmages with neighboring communities. 

Can non-EP residents sign up? Yes. However, team sizes are limited. Priority will be given to EP residents. 

What equipment will my player need for the 2018 summer season? A mouth guard, lacrosse stick, and googles. Player will also need a US Lacrosse Membership (please see "Registration Information")

What is a US Lacrosse Membership? Where can I purchase one? US Lacrosse is the national governing body for both men's and women's lacrosse. Any player, coach, or official participating in the game is required to have a US Lacrosse membership. Memberships can be purchased at

US Lacrosse Age Segmentation

US Lacrosse has recommended the adoption of "Age-based Segmentation" for associations instead of "Grade-based Segmentation." MSLax has adopted this change since 2017. Age waivers from MSLax may be available based on circumstances.

Tournament/Scrimmage Information

EPLA Youth 10U, 12U, and 14U Teams are required to play in 3 in-state summer tournaments/scrimmages. Dates are TBD. Coaching staff will contact parents once tournament dates are announced.

  • 1 Summer Tournament
  • Attend (or EPLA will host) 1/2 day weekend informal 7v7 tournaments
  • MSSLAX Summer Tournament, August 3-5, 2018

NOTE: Players who are rostered for more than 1 summer team are required to play with their EPLA team for all EPLA attended tournaments.

Team 14U

14U – Girls born between 9/1/2003 – 8/31/2005

  • Season consists of 8 games
  • Will participate in the highly competitive "A" division which is run with USLax full checking rules (same as MN high school rules). 
  • Practices and games will occur at Flying Cloud Fields and Nesbitt Park. Our target is to have at least 3 practices per week.
  • Summer Season Fee: $285.00

Team 12U

12U – Girls born between 9/1/2005 – 8/31/2007

  • Season consists of 8 games
  • Practices and games will occur at Flying Cloud Fields and Nesbitt Park. Our target is to have 3 practices/games per week.
  • Summer Season Fee: $255.00

Team 10U

10U – Girls born between 9/1/2007 – 8/31/2009

  • Season consists of 6 games
  • Team and game structure will be 7v7. 
  • Practices and games will occur at Nesbitt Park (possibly Flying Cloud fields). Expect 2 practices a week with a game (maximum of 3 scheduled lacrosse practices/games per week)
  • Summer Season Fee: $200.00

Registration Information

Space is limited - please note that participation preference will be given to Eden Prairie residents if team sizes exceed our capacity to provide a quality playing experience.

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information and submit payment.  To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover information available.  Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from "Eden Prairie Lacrosse Association". DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK ON THE LINK TO ORDER A UNIFORM ON THE RECEIPT PAGE and below.

Equipment:   Your daughter will be required to have a "Girls" lacrosse stick, an approved mouth guard (can't be clear in color or have a strap), and USA Lacrosse approved protective eyewear ("woman's lacrosse goggles"). Cleats are required for U14, and highly recommended for U12.   Please contact Joe Orning or Heather Honn if you have questions.

Need Based Scholarships:  Partial scholarship may be available to players and families based on financial need.  Please contact Joe Orning, or 612-616-8822 for additional information.

Team Events and Volunteers: We do not plan a mandatory fundraiser event this season. We will be providing opportunities for families to become more involved in EP Lacrosse in areas of coaching, team management and team bonding. These are great opportunities to meet other parents and learn more about lacrosse.  Please contact Heather Honn ( or 612-655-4986) for more information.

Uniforms: Below and on the Receipt Page (after payment) is a "Uniform Order Link". Please complete a uniform order after you register. This year, EPLA has purchased and covered the costs for shooter shirts (They look great!).  YOU MUST ORDER the "Girls Mandatory Uniform Bundle" for your player. There is no additional registration cost for the Mandatory Uniform Bundle. You may visit General Sports to try on sizes if you like at their 50th and France location, no appointment necessary:

UNIFORMS - to complete your registration you must click on the link to order your players uniform - this link will be on your Receipt Page and at the bottom of this page. Players are only required to purchase the "Mandatory Uniform Bundle." However, you may purchase additional items.

US Lacrosse Membership Requirement

You must first register with US Lacrosse and then return to this Registration Session to signup.  If you have not already signed up with US Lacrosse, please follow these steps:

One-Time Birth Certificate Download

Parents will also be required to do a one-time download of a players birth certificate when renewing or signing up for a US Lacrosse membership.  This will also ensure that players are at the correct level.  MSLax allows age waivers from time to time for girls with extenuating circumstances.  

  • Step 1: CLICK HERE to go to US Lacrosse Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with US Lacrosse. Each player must have their own unique US Lacrosse confirmation number.
  • Step 2: Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the US Lacrosse Confirmation Number that you received in Step 1.
