Eagles Fall Ball is for Youth Lacrosse Players, both novice and experienced, seeking to work on their game. Sunday afternoons at the Eden Prairie Flying Cloud Fields (corner of Pioneer Trail and Mitchell Rd) starting Sept 22nd, 29th, Oct 6th, 13th and 27th. All players 3rd grade and up require a US Lacrosse Membership (www.uslacrosse.org). Family discount is available. This registration also includes your cost for winter Wall Ball sessions. Dates for those will be announced once the district finalizes the availability schedule.
K-4th grade (beginners) session will run from 1-2PM. We offer instruction on the fundamental skills and the basics of 'how to play lacrosse'. By the end of the sessions they will play small games to exercise their skills. Participants will receive detailed instruction targeted at improving their basic passing/catching, ground balls, footwork, and basic understanding of offensive and defensive play. Players will be separated into groups based on skill level. Cost is $85.
5/6th grade will play 1.5 hrs from 1:30-3:00 pm. These sessions will focus on development of fundamentals - lacrosse stick skills, ground ball tactics, draw control, and footwork; however, significant attention will be given to offensive, defensive, and midfield tactics to raise the players overall lacrosse IQ. Sessions will be a mix of skills/drills training and game play. Players will be separated into groups based on skill level. Cost is $150 (there will be opportunity for goalie specific training if there is interest).
7/8th grade will play 1.5hrs from 1:30 -3:00 pm. These sessions will have an 'instructional' scrimmage focus. Warm ups will focus on fundamentals and specific disciplines, we will end each session with approximately 45 minutes of game time. Cost is $150 (there will be opportunity for goalie specific training if there is interest).
**Our overall goal is to spend some time on fundamentals, but get as much game experience in as we can. We are working with neighboring leagues to set up game play at each session. This is, of course, dependent on other teams availability. We will do our best to get as much game play in as we can.
Coaches will include EPHS Varsity Staff and Players, as well as EPLA staff and guest coaches!
